The work of the HR department begins with the recruitment of employees in the business organization. Human resource recruitment is a crucial step in human resource management in an organization since employees are the most important constituent of the organization. They are the most important ones because they operate the machines and are responsible for the productivity of the company. So, their selection should also be done with discretion. For example, there should not be partiality or biased attitude for anyone appearing for the job interview and preference should be given to the deserving candidates who are qualified and likely to meet the job requirement. Recruiting inefficient candidates will bring the downfall of the company. Therefore, first of all, the recruitment of HR department members should be done by the board committee directly so that there is no sycophant of any executive in the human resource department.

There are certain important factors that have to be considered for human resource recruitment. The most important factor is to analyze the jobs that are to be offered – qualification required for the post, work experience, age limit, etc. Then, go step by step for human resource recruitment:

? Make a plan sheet- make a list of the departments that require the replacement or placement of new employees.

? Make the list of job offers, list out the requirements for the posts vacant such as age limit, academic and professional qualifications, work experience, qualities and attitudes, etc.

? Decide upon the salary to be offered for different posts. This decision is mostly taken by the whole of the management committee.

? Put up the advertisement for human resource recruitment in specific newspapers, radio channels or issue a private bulletin of your company.

? The other sources for human resource recruitment other, than advertising are university placement lists, placement agencies or by internal promotions.

? You can also take resumes online and select the candidates for the interview and then, either send an interview letter or call them personally as per your convenience.

The crucial step comes when interviews have to be conducted. Who will take the interviews? How they will be conducted? The persons from each department whether that is finance, accounting, HR or PR would need to be present. It will be beneficial to do so since recruitment would be done in each and every department.

Human resource recruitment not only stands for the HR department recruiting personnel in an organization, but also for the recruitment of HR officials in the business organization or setting up the whole HR department in an organization. As mentioned above, certain companies hire HR aid from private HR agencies, that is called outsourcing HR.  Mostly, the reason for outsourcing human resource recruitment is the lack of time with the company to set up the HR department, or the lack of expertise. But this outsourcing might be beneficial for business organizations running on large scale. This may not mean great loss of money for them. For small scale business organizations, the best option will be to set up their personal HR department. Outsourcing will be a sheer wastage of money for them.
